Albert Cleophus Willis worked for three decades as a successful fine artist and commercial illustrator. His realistic portrait, wildlife, and landscape paintings seamlessly integrate past, present, and future; elements of the Flemish masters of the 1500s and twentieth century modernism combine with twenty-first century technology to create innovative works both timely and timeless. With the new year of 2001, Willis ventured into the exciting new world of digital imagery and graphic design. And to reflect this new undertaking, he adopted a new name: to the fine art community, he would now be known simply as Cleophus.

In addition to limited edition prints of selected works, Cleophus is also available for custom, commissioned portraits and other artwork. One of Cleophus's first works to gain widespread recognition was an oil portrait commissioned by Ray Charles. The painting graced the cover of Charles's album “Message from the People” and now hangs permanently in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
